Still Waters Clothing Company was born not just from a dream, but from a wilderness season—one marked by waiting, wrestling, and, ultimately, revelation.

 

Years ago, we dreamed of starting a clothing brand—one rooted in faith, simplicity, and meaningful conversation. We imagined garments that sparked stillness and pointed people toward scripture. But life, as it often does, got busy. Full-time work, building a family, and the demands of everyday living placed the dream on hold. The vision stayed tucked away, waiting for its appointed time.

 

That time came in 2022.

 

A long commute became an unexpected gift. Each day, I drove 35 to 60 minutes through the quiet country highways of Nebraska—mind clear, heart open. It became sacred space. I prayed. I listened to scripture. I called and talked to friends. I sat in silence. And somewhere along those winding roads, the Lord began to stir the waters again.

 

Then came October 20, 2022. The day our son, Jackson Paul, was born—unexpectedly diagnosed with Down syndrome and facing significant health concerns from the start. That night, we found ourselves weeping together in a hospital bed, realizing something profound: our prayer for stillness had been answered. Not through success, but through surrender. Not through a product, but a person.

 

Jackson was a sacred interruption. A divine reset.

 

We slowed down. Changed jobs. Moved homes. Life was still full, but it was no longer hurried. Beneath the chaos, there was peace. Beneath the motion, a deeper stillness.

 

There was a detour through another dream—a coffee brand centered on silence and solitude. It grew briefly, then unexpectedly ended. And there, in the disappointment, the question arose: “Was the dream over. . .or just reshaping?”

The answer was clear: it was becoming something deeper!

And so, we returned to where it all began. But this time, with a clearer vision. A renewed spirit. A message not just about slowing down, but about living differently—about being rooted in something eternal.
